Expert Logistics (m/f)
in Niamey
The position is to be filled as soon as possible, with an initial contract duration of one year. Employment location will be Niamey, Niger.
As Expert Logistics, you will be responsible for the accurate implementation of all processes related to procurement, logistics etc. in Niger. You will also be responsible for the logistics team of Welthungerhilfe Country Office in Niger.
Your responsibilities
• Insuring proper procurement of all required items by the projects in close collaboration with key staff
• Complying with all donor and Welthungerhilfe rules and regulations
• Ensuring full transparent and corruption free implementation of contracting and subcontracting to service providers
• Making full use of the Welthungerhilfe Niger Data system and advise on how to develop it further
• Advising on the introduction of more efficient asset management (including fleet management)
• Reintroducing data processing of asset use
• Preparing monthly summaries on asset management and costing
• Preparing members planning of all logistical staff including drivers of Country office, together with key staff
• Supporting logistics staff in regional projects offices to manage their logistical work more efficiently
• Assisting in the use and development of data systems
• Setting up and use a real stock keeping system
Your profile
• A university or polytechnic degree in development cooperation/humanitarian aid/logistics or qualifications that are commensurate with the position
• 3-5 years of job related experience
• Strong IT-Skills
• Coordination and organization skills – even under a high workload
• A very good command of French and English
• Willingness to travel in the project regions
