Without access to financial institutions, people are forced to keep their savings under the mattress. Small business owners rely on lenders who charge extortionate rates. Parents spend hours waiting in line to pay school fees in cash.

We’re solving this by building financial services that just work: no account fees, instantly available, and accepted everywhere. In places where electricity, water and roads don’t always work, you can still send money with Wave. In 2017, we launched a mobile app in Senegal for cash deposit, withdrawal, and peer-to-peer and business payments. Now, we have millions of users across six countries and are growing fast.

How you’ll help us achieve it

We’re seeking a Receivables Officer who is enthusiastic about driving results and achieving operational excellence. In this role, you will be key in facilitating seamless communication between our business and treasury teams, ensuring smooth and efficient operations. In this role, you’ll:

Ensure timely funding for all partners and bulk companies, with thorough follow-up on each transaction.
Initiate wire transfers related to collections.
Oversee bulk funding and collections, ensuring prompt processing.
Execute daily transfers on banking platforms, adhering to cut-off times and payment schedules.
Provide daily funding reports and verify account discrepancies for accuracy.
Assist the Reconciliation team with partner funding letters and bank wire issues.
Advise the Sales team on partner payment requirements and needs.
Assist the Treasury team with administrative tasks related to bank relationships and maintaining client satisfaction.

Key details

Location: You’ll work from our office in Senegal and may travel to field locations.
Work authorization in Senegal is required.
This is a permanent position.

Requirements

Strong proficiency in English and French.
Minimum requirement of a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a relevant discipline.
Firm grasp of accounting fundamentals.
At least 2 year’s experience in a comparable position.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
You might be a good fit if you:
Are experienced in basic book keeping or accounting.
Show strong banking processing abilities.
Utilize technology effectively, including Google Sheets and Excel.
Exhibit a keen aptitude for math and numbers.
Maintain a high level of detail orientation, while ensuring discretion.
