Retail project engineer

Vivo energy is looking for a retail project engineer.

Job purpose:

o support the retail construction & maintenance manager for pro-actively driving the performance of the capex program delivery through vivo energy project management guidelines (pmg) to agreed outcomes, meeting hsse and retail business objectives. implement the construction program in the market through pmg
o report on the continuous improvement in the construction delivery in terms of costs, quality and cycle time in alignment with the pmg.
o develop and manage in guidance of the retail construction & maintennace manager the key stakeholder relationships with network functions, sales & ops and other external third parties and pro-actively communicate with them in order to deliver the capex program
o to deliver country work plan according to vivo guidelines & strategies

Principal Accountabilities:

• lead and drive hsse mindset with the contractors. ensure compliance with the vivo hsse policies by contractors
• support to set a clear direction and priorities on construction programs.
• support to provide a cohesive and integrated annual construction program to retail network including high-level scope, timeline
• provide the scope of work of each individual project and program under his/her direct responsibility
• attend the monthly performance improvement meeting with retail network team to review the project/program delivery including spent, milestones and hsse and agree action plans to improve project/program delivery performance
• escalate unresolved and systemic issues to the retail construction & maintenance manager.
• ensure that any alterations and improvements done by the dealers are in compliance with shell standards
• coordinate with contract & procurement the strategy to optimize purchase of materials and services.
• participate in the elaboration and implementation of the country work-plan
• ensure smooth operations of retail sites in terms of safety & operational requirements in such a way that risk to the business are minimized
• supervise construction works to ensure they are carried out within agreed quality, budget and time
• manages construction contracts in effective way (kpis monitoring & reporting) as per ve contract management standards
• ensure that contractors are pre-qualified, greenbanded and appraised annually
• budget elaboration and cost management
• identification and sharing of project management best practices

Job knowledge, skills & experiences:

o graduate civil engineer or equivalent
o project management master degree
o good knowledge on use of project management standards
o experience 2-4 years’ experience in managing development of selling facilities.
o working knowledge in retail engineering and plant engineering,
o knowledge on environmental guideline for selling facilities
o knowledge level on hsse policy & various requirement in relation to developing activities
o professional retail experience and a good overall understanding of the retail business will be an advantage
