USAID Women in the Economy Program: Providing Accredited Nutritionist Training

Deadline: 18 October 2018

The USAID Women in the Economy Program is seeking grant applications from Afghan or International healthcare training organizations to provide accredited Nutritionist Training to groups of selected females in Kabul, Afghanistan.

Recognizing the need for skilled female healthcare providers, WIE seeks Afghan and/or International healthcare training partner(s) with a proven track record in providing accredited and comprehensive basic training for Nutritionists. WIE encourages certified Afghan training institutions or organizations to partner with accredited International healthcare training providers.

Program Components

The scope of each grant will include two components:

  • Component 1 – Training
    • WIE intends to award grants to successful applicants for the delivery of Nutritionist Training for women. All training curricula must include both theoretical and practical components. In addition, all courses offered under the grant must be certified under an internationally accredited program such as The Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND), the Association for Nutrition (AfN)/London, or equivalent.
  • Component 2 – Job Placement
    • The overall objective of WIE’s grant program is to increase women’s participation in the Afghan economy by securing employment or advancing them in their careers.
