UNOWAS recruits 01 Information Systems Officer
This position is within the Mission Support Section of the UN Office for West Africa and the Sahel (UNOWAS) and the Cameroon-Nigeria Mixed Commission (CNMC). The incumbent will report to the Chief of Mission Support and will be responsible for heading the Information Communications and Technology (ICT) Unit, within the Mission Support Section of UNOWAS and CNMC.
Job requirements
Education
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Higher level degree, certificates or training in Information Technology would be of an asset.
Job – Specific Qualification
- Technical training certifications in Information Systems are desirable.
Work Experience
- A minimum of ten (10) years of progressively responsible experience in the planning, design, development, implementation and maintenance of computer information systems or related areas is required.
- Experience in managing and supervising teams of diverse personnel is required.
- Experience in asset management is required.
- Experience in the execution of IT, GIS or Telecom projects is required.
- Experience in acquisition planning and budget preparation is required
- Two years of experience providing services in planning, design, development, implementation, and maintenance of computer Information systems or related areas in a field operation (conflict or post-conflict setting) of the United Nations Common System or comparable international organization is desirable.
Languages
- English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For the position advertised, FLEUCY eNGLISH is required, (both oral and written). Knowledge of French is an advantage.
