UNOPS South Sudan Country Office plans to implement the Support to South Sudan River Transport Project. The project aims at designing and building a fit for purpose river barge suitable for South Sudan’s White Nile River and its tributaries. The Project Manager will lead project implementation and ensure that all project activities are implemented as planned.
The incumbent will be responsible to abide by the security policies, administrative instructions, plans and procedures of the UN Security Management System and that of UNOPS.
The project manager is responsible to read and develop the project initiation documents (PID), Legal Agreement and have a thorough understanding of the terms, conditions, and the respective roles and responsibilities of the partners/stakeholders to ensure the project’s products are capable of meeting the business cases for both UNOPS and the client. Success of the Project and hence Project Manager will be based on the Success Criteria of UNOPS engagements which are linked to the below responsibilities.  The duties and responsibilities of the Project Manager Level 2 are similar to that of the Project Manager Level 3, the difference in grades being determined by the project level, complexity and level of responsibility of the specific The project would rely on a number of external suppliers for its successful delivery and would be working with firm deadlines. The project manager is responsible for all aspects of the project life cycle.
The Project Manager is supported by the Project Assistant will be the lead individual in managing project administration and maintaining timely and accurate records of all financial, contractual and personnel related matters.
