The Foundation welcomes requests of up to $45,000 for activities implemented during the summer of 2021.
Proposal Requirements
Grants will be awarded to programs that can contribute to the Foundation’s interest in safe and enriching day care and employment opportunities and career exposure and will prioritize applicants that: plan and/or have experience in running in-person camp safely; incorporate active program components that encourage outdoor and/or physical activity. Applicants should demonstrate cultural competency. Preference will be given to organizations that are Black or Latino led.

Target Population: Programming must specifically reach Hartford youth or people with disabilities in our 29-town region.
Types of Programs: Eligible types of programs include summer camperships, enrichment opportunities, tutorial experiences and Counselor-in-Training (CIT) programs.
Eligible applicants: Applicants must meet the Hartford Foundation basic grantmaking guidelines. Non-501c3 community-based groups may apply using a fiscal sponsor.
Expected Outputs: Funded proposals will be asked to track and report on the following outputs:
number participating in overall programming,
number of Hartford youth participating in programming,
number of working families using program as primary child care.
Learning Opportunities: Funded organizations will be invited to participate in up to two learning opportunities. Additional learning opportunities may be available to the cohort as requested.
