United Kingdom: Albert Hunt Trust’s Grant
Deadline: Ongoing Opportunity
Applications are now open for the Albert Hunt Trust’s Grant to support local registered charities throughout the United Kingdom.
The Trustees decided that it was appropriate to change the legal structure of the Trust from a traditional Charitable Trust to a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO). This change was purely administrative and there have been no changes to the Trusts objectives or grant making philosophy.
The Trustees of The Albert Hunt Trust are very aware of the continued severe impact COVID-19 is having on the charity sector. During this unprecedented crisis they will continue to support charities and have no plans to scale back the overall level of grant making.
The Trust is Unable to Fund
The funds are limited and in line with our funding policy, and to ensure the most efficient use of resources, they do not currently fund the following areas of work:
Animal Welfare
Arts/Heritage
Conservation/Environment
Expeditions and overseas travel
Individual and sports sponsorship
Mainstream able-bodied sport (they will consider disabled sports projects)
Medical research
Organisations in the health and wellbeing sector with income levels above £250,000 (they will however consider capital projects)
Promotion of religion
Eligibility Criteria
The Albert Hunt Trust will consider applications from UK registered charities based in England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.
The Albert Hunt Trust supports UK registered charities that:
Provide Hospice Care
Provide support for the Homeless
Promote health and well being – areas of support under this heading have included physical and learning disability, physical and mental health, plus social challenge and deprivation. They look to support organisations in this category with an annual income of below £250,000. However, they will look at capital projects, such as significant equipment purchases or building works irrespective of the income levels.
