Children in West and Central Africa have their rights violated on daily basis to an extreme extent. They die from malaria, diarrhoeal diseases and vaccine-preventable diseases such as measles. To learn more about UNICEF’s work in the region. The West and Central Africa Regional Office (WCARO)  is working to renew its efforts to advance children’s rights which have been impeded by economic and public health crises, and natural disasters. How can you make a difference?
Under the supervision of the Regional Chief Monitoring and Evaluation, the Data Management Officer will ensure quality and timely support to the Regional Office to maintain the regional intranet site (SharePoint) and regional databases of indicators, analyze and compile data, support the development of new tools for data collection/analysis/dissemination, and more broadly, support the monitoring of, reporting on, and evaluation of the situation of children and their families in the region. She/He will support quality assurance and provision of technical assistance to WCAR countries work on Data and SharePoint management and use.

1- Contribute to strengthening Data Management, Analysis and Use in WCAR
Management of regional database, WCAR Info Platform that houses programmatic data and population-based data
2- Assist RO in ensuring WCAR countries accountability on Evaluation
Review evaluation documents (ToRs, inception report, final report, etc. based on UNEG standards)
3- Provide support to WCAR offices in Share Point use for Knowledge Management
Maintain regional office teamsite on SharePoint. Provide support to RO sections in continuous design and improvement of their sub-sites and ensure overall quality and maintenance of the regional office team site.
4- Support PME section internal processes and overall accountability as needed.
Reviews of Country Offices (COs) programming documents (Country Offices Annual reports, Country Programme Documents, PSNs). Support in maintaining up to date RO programme structure and Budget management in Vision and Insight, etc.).
To qualify as a champion for every child you will need to have…
– Advanced university degree in social sciences, demography, development planning, statistics or related technical field
– A minimum of one (1) years of relevant professional experience in data processing, analysis, dissemination and development/maintenance of databases
– Proven experience analyzing, compiling and presenting data, with a focus on Children and Development-related areas
– Proven experience in working with data from household surveys in particular DHS and MICS
– Fluency in French is required and good working knowledge of English.
