In 2017, an office was established in the province of Nampula. This office serves as the first point of contact for government and local partners and oversees the implementation of programme activities in this region.
How can you make a difference?
You will be responsible for coordination, planning, and monitoring within the co-located office in the province of Nampula. The position will represent UNICEF with local authorities and partners and will support the overall planning of the within the co-located office, quality control, monitoring and internal and external capacity development in aspects of programme planning. The position will ensure programme convergence on keys themes, such as the reduction of chronic malnutrition or child marriage.
Your key accountabilities are:
Programme Development, Monitoring and Evaluation
Knowledge Management for Programmes
Funds Oversight and Management
Implementation of Rights-Based and Results-Based Approaches
National and Local Capacity Building/Sustainability
Rights Perspective and Advocacy at the National, Community and Family Levels
Partnership, Coordination and Collaboration
Programming Convergence
District-level Representation
To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…
Advanced university degree in Social Sciences, International Relations, Government, Public Administration, Public Policy, Social Policy, Social Development, Community Development, or other relevant disciplines, with specialized training in conflict resolution.
A Bachelor’s degree combined with 2 additional years of relevant work experience may be accepted in lieu of an advanced university degree.
A minimum of five years of relevant professional experience in strategic programme management, planning, and coordination.
Background/familiarity with Emergency programming is an asset.
Ability to work autonomously and lead a team of technical experts is a strong asset.
Experience working with high-level government officials and local partners is desirable.
Fluency in Portuguese and English is required.
