How can you make a difference?
Within the delegated authority and under the given organizational set-up, the incumbent may be assigned the primarily, shared, or contributory accountabilities for all or part of the following areas of major duties and key end-results:

Data management
Adapt existing in-country IM approaches and tools for collecting, analyzing and reporting CO/Sectors/sub-sector activities and resources, and identifying information gaps, related to the emergency.
Provide a consolidated multisectoral humanitarian result framework based on interagency response plan and UNICEF HAC indicators and targets;
Establish and maintain information databases and tools that serve to monitor the situation and response;
Provide leadership and support field data collection initiatives including joint needs assessments and field/third party monitoring using new technologies and innovative approaches.
Coordinate the high frequency humanitarian reporting from Sector/Sub-sector participants, including humanitarian performance monitoring and 5Ws (« Who does What, Where, When and for Whom? » databases).
Data analysis, visualization and report
Support the preparation of humanitarian SitRep by consolidating data on UNICEF/Sectors/Sub-Sector plans, targets and achievements.
Develop and disseminate appropriate data/information visualization products on the emergency and responses to support programme planning, monitoring and decision making;
Support the estimation of spatial and temporal gaps (vis-a-vis needs), overlaps and coverage of Sections/Sectors/Sub-Sectors activities and projects.
Manage an inventory of relevant documents on the humanitarian situation: catalogues of IM and data products, including maps and assessments.
Coordination and capacity building
Ensure that there are effective flows of information between the national and sub-national levels for UNICEF and the sectors.
Work with Sections/Sectors/Sub-sectors participants to identify information gaps at national and sub-national levels and propose ways to bridge those gaps
Collaborate with OCHA and other UN agency partners, including Government, on the exchange of information to inform UNICEF’s response and preparedness decisions.
Develop and strengthen IM capacity through the training of CO colleagues and partners including the Government counterparts (with focus on the emergency sectoral groups led by UNICEF)
To qualify as a champion for every child you will have :
An advanced university degree in in a subject area relevant to data, information management, geographic information systems, Information Technology, statistics or relevant disciplines.
A minimum of five years of professional work experience at national and international levels is required.
Proven experience in management of data projects that combine innovative and practical dimensions.
Demonstrated outstanding analytical skills, and ability to perform well under pressure.
Strong knowledge of MS Excel and experience in using mapping and data visualization tools (e.g. ArcMap, Tableau, Power BI)
Strong understanding of result-based monitoring approach, understanding of the project cycle management.
Good understanding of Sectors/Clusters coordination in emergencies to be able to engage with sector participants and understand sector- specific IM needs.
Experience in the humanitarian and development work is an asset.
Fluency in French is required. Fluent English is an asset
