How can you make a difference? 

Scope of Work: 

Provide and develop sector-specific maps and graphics that aid forward planning as well as impact analysis

Ensure application of appropriate information technology for maintenance of partner lists (e.g through Google Groups) and archiving of information (e.g through humanitarianresponse.info or other websites), recognizing limitations in connectivity

Promote the use of inter-operable technologies among CWG partners

Ensure the dissemination and adaptation as necessary of information management tools that meet the Cash Working Group needs

Ensure the collation and compilation of HCT data and provide timely, consistent, and compatible data and information on needs assessment and programme monitoring for operational analysis and decision-making; including but not limited to monthly 5Ws reporting

Map Assistance coverage in Ethiopia, analyzing and reporting potential gaps

Produce and share maps illustrating scale/coverage of assistance

Develop and produce interactive dashboards (PowerBi) and snapshots related to Markets and CVA – and others as requested

Developing country work experience and/or familiarity with emergency is considered an asset. 

Minimum Qualifications required:

Master’s degree in Information Management, Geography and Geographic Information Systems, Risk, Emergency Planning, Data/Business Analytics

Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) or a local language is an asset. 

At least five year’s combined field and headquarters experience in different international organizations or projects (e.g. UN agencies, INGOs, IOs, Donors, IFRC or ICRC)

Knowledge of the UN System, and NGO humanitarian community, and humanitarian coordination architecture (desired)

Knowledge of Cash and Voucher Assistance (CVA) standards, and indicators (desired)

Proven statistical analytic skills

Experience in web design and programming (desired)

Knowledge of multi-variate mapping techniques

Familiarity with the humanitarian reform and cluster approach

Individuals engaged under a consultancy or individual contract will not be considered “staff members” under the Staff Regulations and Rules of the United Nations and UNICEF’s policies and procedures, and will not be entitled to benefits provided therein (such as leave entitlements and medical insurance coverage). Their conditions of service will be governed by their contract and the General Conditions of Contracts for the Services of Consultants and Individual Contractors. Consultants and individual contractors are responsible for determining their tax liabilities and for the payment of any taxes and/or duties, in accordance with local or other applicable laws. 

The selected candidate is solely responsible to ensure that the visa (applicable) and health insurance required to perform the duties of the contract are valid for the entire period of the contract. Selected candidates are subject to confirmation of fully-vaccinated status against SARS-CoV-2 (Covid-19) with a World Health Organization (WHO)-endorsed vaccine, which must be met prior to taking up the assignment. It does not apply to consultants who will work remotely and are not expected to work on or visit UNICEF premises, programme delivery locations or directly interact with communities UNICEF works with, nor to travel to perform functions for UNICEF for the duration of their consultancy contracts.
