How can you make a difference?
The C4D Officer will work closely with the C4D specialist for Health, and the UNICEF KCO Health Specialist,  responsible for Immunization, in the provision of behaviour change communication technical support to Health through the Ministry of Health and implementing partners. Specifically, the staff member will provide support to the Vaccines Unit in the promotion of routine immunization programme and in particular the GAVI supported initiatives.
KEY EXPECTED AREAS OF WORK
Provide technical support to the C4D specialist for Health
Support MoH, Health Promotion Unit in coordination of integrated behaviour change communication interventions at national and selected counties.
Support the introduction of New Vaccines
Support planning, implementation and monitoring of Advocacy, Communication and Social Mobilization activities during campaigns including Polio Campaigns and other routine immunization campaigns
Support GAVI counties in implementing Communication activities as per County Specific Communication plans
Support counties in implementation of School and Nomadic strategies for Routine Immunization in low performing counties
Any other duty assigned by the C4D Manager or C4D Health Specialist

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…
University degree in Communication, Social Sciences, or any other relevant field of discipline
At least 2 years’ experience in the areas of communication for development planning, media and material development, preferably in the area of communication for the Immunization programme.
SPECIFIC TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED
Knowledge and familiarity with UNICEF work.
Previous experience supporting the health sector in communication for development related areas
Ability to research, analyze and synthesize information is an asset
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Excellent planning and organizational skills.
Ability to provide quality products, with minimum supervision and to meet tight deadlines.
Ability to work with government counterpart at national and county level
LANGUAGE
Fluency in English and knowledge of the local working language of the duty station.
