Purpose of the Position

Sous la supervision du Chef de la Section Protection de l’enfant, et en collaboration avec la section Education, soutient la coordination du Projet « Renforcement de la protection de l’enfant dans l’éducation » avec l’appui du Gouvernement Canadien, participe à la planification, la mise en oeuvre, le suivi et l’évaluation du projet, en étroite en étroite coopération avec les autres partenaires du Projet, et en articulation avec les stratégies et politiques nationales dans le domaine de la protection de l’enfant et de l’éducation, les autres projets/programmes mis en oeuvre dans ce domaine par les acteurs nationaux et leurs partenaires.

Key Expected Results

1.  Programme/Project Management

Ensure the availability of accurate, complete and up-to-date information required for the effective implementation of the project. Ensure project design, implementation, management, monitoring and evaluation. Draft sound programme budgets for review by the supervisor. Ensure coordination with national counterparts and other partners.

2. Project Efficiency and Effectiveness

Enhance project efficiency and effectiveness through implementation follow-on, including monitoring UNICEF inputs, local conditions and resources, flow of supply and non-supply assistance and project status. Ensure the provision of regular technical assistance and monitoring at both national and district level.

 

3. Work Plan and Project Documentation

Analyze collected data and information and prepare progress reports; draft changes in the project work plans and assist in identification of required supplies and equipment as well as in the drafting of Country Programme Recommendation and other project documentation, assuring accuracy and consistency with established rules, regulations and plans of action.

Project Implementation Information and Data

Ensure the appropriateness of financial, administrative and supply documentation; verify that project expenditures are within allotments and that data is consistent with the project information and database. Follow up on queries or initiate corrective action on discrepancies.

5. Knowledge Sharing

Compile project implementation materials to promote knowledge sharing with donors and media. Draft briefing notes, donors reports.

6. Communication and Networking

Ensure the effective communication and networking developed and maintained through partnership and collaboration.

•   Collaborate with Operations staff to implement internal controls systems and resolve day-to-day issues or discrepancies in financial or supply management.

•    Team with Government counterparts to exchange information on project implementation and status as well as movement and distribution of supplies.

• Coordinate with members of the development community, including NGOs, UN and bilateral agencies in the exchange of information relating to Child Protection sector.

 

Qualifications of Successful Candidate

◾Maîtrise en Sciences Juridiques, Sciences sociales,  Sciences de l’Education ou équivalent. Bonne connaissance des questions de protection de l’enfant, spécifiquement la violence faite aux enfants et les droits humains, et des politiques d’éducation.

◾08 années d’expérience dans la coordination, planification, la mise en oeuvre, le suivi et l’évaluation de projets / programmes de protection de l’enfant et/ou de développement social, au niveau national et/ou international.

◾Parfaite maîtrise du français écrit ou parlé. Très Bonne connaissance de l’anglais. La connaissance d’une ou de deux langues nationales du Sénégal est indispensable.
