OVERVIEW OF THE FUNCTIONS OF THE POSTUnder the overall authority of the Chief of Section for Digital Innovation and Transformation (CI/DIT) and the direct supervision of the Programme Specialist responsible for Open Educational Resources (OER) and digital competencies, the Individual consultant shall assist in the implementation of Open Educational Resources (OER) and the ICT Competency Framework for Teachers (ICT CFT) activities.
The incumbent will specifically undertake the following tasks:
Backstopping of programme implementation
Organize at least 6 Bilingual Open Educational Resources (OER) Dynamic Coalition Webinars: inputs to the plan of webinars, draft concept note, liaison with speakers and UNESCO CLD services, inputs to the moderation of the Webinars and implementation of follow up actions arising from these Webinars.
Support the development of at least 6 OER Dynamic Coalition update messages: inputs to the plan of update messages, drafting of content in English and French, liaison with OER Dynamic Coalition partners contributing to the update messageAssist in the overall coordination of the OER Dynamic Coalition and the ICT Competency Framework for Teachers (ICT CFT) activities including liaison with stakeholders, inputs to the planning and implementation of OER Dynamic Coalition Roadmap activities, contributing to the implementation of follow up actions.Support the organization of an inter-regional online workshop on the ICT CFT which includes a focus on open, online and flexible learning with stakeholders from at least 3 UNESCO Regions. This would include inputs to the concept note, draft agenda, identification of participants, and support to the implementation of follow up measures arising from this event.Prepare news items, reports, synthesis notes, and briefings related to ongoing and future OER Dynamic Coalition projects, activities and events, and other DIT documents; carry out relevant desk researchProvide support to the updating of UNESCO’s OER Recommendation related web pages ; review the current structure, content and statistics, prepare a systematic plan for updating, and produce relevant new content; contribute to the development of a website to share information and support collaboration between OER stakeholders on OER Recommendation related activities. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Education
Advanced university degree (Masters or equivalent) in education, communication, social sciences or related field.
Work ExperienceAt least 2 years of relevant experience at the international level in education in the area of ICT and Education
Proven experience in the design and development of communication products and multimedia materials.Demonstrated experience in communicating project implementation actions and results in a Multilanguage context. Skills/CompetenciesAbility to work efficiently in a multi-cultural and multi-lingual environment and team spirit
Knowledge of UNESCO/UN rules and proceduresAbility to implement communications and publications strategiesExcellent communication skills, excellent writing skillsDemonstrated ability to conceptualize issues and analyze data to compile and synthesize information in coherent and succinct formats;Sharing knowledge across the organization and building a culture of knowledge sharing and learning.Excellent coordination and negotiation skills;Demonstrated ability to use office equipment with computer literacy in graphic design, publication design, multimedia products development, web design, web content, etc.High attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines;

Proven work experience in the establishment and maintenance of electronic collaborative working spaces for the implementation of activities in a multilingual and multicultural environmentExperience working on activities related to ICT and Education in the UNESCO and /or UN ContextExperience working in UNESCO Field Units
LanguagesKnowledge of Spanish, Russian, Chinese and/or Arabic will be an asset
