Une Structure recrute 01 Legal Counsel Mali & CDI Cluster

The role will cover 7 markets with 5 BAT legal entities (Niger, Mali, Guinea Bissau, Guinea Conakry, Burkina Faso, CDI, Senegal) and will handle the management of 7 distributors with 6 BG in place and the management of 4 externals lawyers in different countries.

The role will:

Ensure implementation of the function strategies and initiatives across its markets and sharing key learning and knowledge and coordinating implementation of legal activities across these markets.
Monitor and interpret the legislation environment in which the business operates within its markets to ensure the business understands and meets its legal obligations as laid out in statutes and regulations in addition to various compliance procedures required under any Capital Markets Authorities, Stock Exchanges and Trading Blocks as well as Retirement Benefit Authorities as relevant.
Contribute to the development and execution of the WAM legal strategy as well as the Area legal strategy.
Take responsibility for the implementation of the agreed management strategy of any litigation instituted by or against the business within its Markets and ensure cost effective management of External Counsel across markets.
To draft negotiate and review contractual documentation emanating from the business and develop as appropriate standard formats to optimise efficiencies within the Legal Function
Essential requirements
Candidates should have a recognized Civil law qualification through a reputable academic institution
At least 2 years’ experience in a private legal practice and 3 years’ experience in a corporate environment
Strong negotiation and drafting skills
Good knowledge of the tradeblocks working process and directives adoption
Knowledge of French and French based law are key to this role
Past working experience in a legal department of an FMCG
Pro-active management of changing legislation.
Desirable requirements Good level of English Language will be an advantage
