Established in 1951, IOM is the leading inter-governmental organization in the field of migration and works closely with governmental, intergovernmental and non-governmental partners. IOM is dedicated to promoting humane and orderly migration for the benefit of all. It does so by providing services and advice to governments and migrants.

In 2017 the International Organization for Migration and the European Commission are launching several IOM-EU External Actions to Support Migrant Protection and Reintegration of returnees funded by the EU Trust Fund (EUTF) for Africa and the Development Cooperation Instrument.

In the framework of the EUTF-funded Joint Initiative for Migrant Protection and Reintegration in Africa, under the direct supervision of the Regional Programme Coordination Officer for the IOM-EUTF Joint Initiative, and in close coordination with the RO Dakar Business Analyst, and with the technical support of IOM Geneva HQ Data Management and Research Unit of the Migrant Assistance Division, the trainers will be responsible for training IOM Staff in the use of MiMOSA, IOM’s global migration management application.

IOM is looking for 4 consultants (3 trainers and 1 lead-trainer), with a strong and good track record who shall be responsible for training IOM staff in 14 West-African countries. The consultants must have sound professional experience, qualifications and skills matching the standards required by this assignment. The objective of the assigned consultancy activities is to build capacity in IOM offices in West-Africa on using MiMOSA for case management, coordination with other IOM missions involved, and reporting.

In particular, the core Functions and Responsibilities will include:

1) Support the development of a tailored MiMOSA training curriculum

2) Attend the pre-training workshop

3) Provide professional MiMOSA training to AVRR staff in 14 West-African countries

4) Provide guidance on the EUTF Standard Operating Procedures

5) Report on weekly basis on the trainings conducted, the realities/issues encountered and make relevant recommendations

6) Provide training reports as per need

7) Liaise with IOM office for logistical arrangements regarding own travel and training location

8) Respect IOM’s Data Protection Principles

9) Perform other duties as they may be assigned
In addition, the lead trainer Functions and Responsibilities will include:

10) Develop a tailored MiMOSA training curriculum

11) Monitor and evaluate the trainings

The successful consultant must be able to demonstrate a combination of the following skills, experience and qualifications:

• Completed Bachelor’s degree

• Fluency in both French and English is required

• Experience using IOM MiMOSA is required

• Experience using IOM MiMOSA as a case worker is an advantage

• Experience in training is required

• Experience developing training curricula is an advantage

• Familiarity with regional migration dynamics in West Africa is an advantage

• Accountability – takes responsibility for action and is able to work under minimal supervision

• Planning and Organizing – plans work, anticipates risks, and sets goals within area of responsibility

• Client Orientation – works effectively well with client and stakeholders

• Communication – listens and communicates clearly, adapting delivery to the audience
