In a growth context, we are looking for an experienced/ senior SQL database administrator (DBA) who will be responsible for ensuring the performance, availability, and security of all our SQL instances used by our core platforms. You will also be responsible for orchestrating upgrades, backups, and provisioning of new database instances and work together with the other infrastructure teams, preparing documentations and specifications as required.

Responsibilities

Work on any DB related support tickets
Prepare documentations and specifications
Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders
Ensure performance, security, and availability of databases
Profile server resource usage, optimize and tweak as necessary
Provision MS SQL instances, both in clustered and non-clustered configurations
Handle common database procedures, such as upgrade, backup, recovery, migration, etc.

Profile

Technical Skills
Strong proficiency in MS SQL database management
Experienced with Microsoft SQL Server 2012 and 2014 both Standard or Enterprise editions and the related underlying tools (Profiler, DTA, etc)
Experience in troubleshooting and resolving database integrity issues, performance issues, blocking and deadlocking issues, replication issues, log shipping issues, connectivity issues, security issues etc.
Experience in Performance Tuning, Query Optimization, using Performance Monitor, SQL Profiler and other related monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
Strong knowledge of backups, restores, recovery models, database shrink operations, DBCC commands, Clustering, Database mirroring, Replication.
SQL Development – ability to write and troubleshoot SQL Code and design ( stored procs, functions, tables, views, triggers, indexes, constraints )
Ability to plan resource requirements from high level specifications
Familiarity with other SQL databases such as MySQL is a plus
