Position Summary
Reporting directly to the Country IT Manager, the IT Specialist is mainly responsible for maintaining Securiport’s proprietary Integrated Immigration Control System (IICS), providing Lead Server and Administration support for the underlying infrastructure nation-wide.
The IT Specialist is also involved in a wide array of projects that complement the Securiport IICS’s quality and performance.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities
IICS system deployments, installations, maintenance, administration and troubleshooting.
Configure and maintain database servers and processes, including monitoring of system health and performance, to ensure high levels of performance, availability, and security.
Configure databases to maintain data retention, redundancy, security and confidentiality.
Coordinates regularly with third parties such as manufacturers and partners.
Manage IICS Reports, Infrastructure Documents and ongoing System Optimizations.
Develop custom tools to help with installation, maintenance, support and reporting objectives.
Provide general IT Support and consultation to all departments in the organization.
Manage all phases of any ad-hoc IT project that may be requested by upper management.
Contribute to the software development and implementation objectives (e.g. revision upgrades; emergency modifications; etc.) by coordinating all requirements between the development center and the local operation and seamlessly implement these changes in the production environment.
Arrange project requirements through thorough analysis, preparing corresponding work flow charts and diagrams using knowledge of computer capabilities, subject matter expertise, programming language, and logic.
Maintains client confidence and protects the operation by keeping all exchanged information confidential and by providing an exceptional service at all times.
Requirements & Qualifications
Bachelor’s degrees from an accredited college in Computer Science or related discipline
5+ years managing Windows Servers, MS-SQL and storage.
3 years of Programming and Systems Design.
2 years using Visual Studio and Crystal Reports.
Equivalent combination of Education and/or Experience accepted.
Skills:
MS-SQL Server Administration experience required (MSSQL 2012, 2014).
SQL programming and reporting, .Net programming.
Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO), using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for SQL Server.
Installation and administration of Windows Server environments (2008 & 2012).
Administration of Microsoft Hyper-V.
Backups, restores and recovery models.
Flexible, team player, “get-it-done” personality.
Ability to organize and plan work independently.
Ability to work in a rapidly changing environment.
Ability to multi-task and context-switch effectively between different activities and teams.
Other:
Must have excellent reading, writing and speaking abilities in French.
Must have excellent reading, writing and speaking abilities in English.
Microsoft MCSA certification is a plus.
Knowledge of Dell hardware is a plus.
Experience with open source monitoring solutions is a plus.
Experience with Biometric Technologies or Data Mining is a plus.
Experience in project management is a plus.
Experience with CCTV and IP cameras is a plus.
Experience with network cabling (cupper / fiber) is a plus.
Must be professional, responsible, proactive with a strong work ethic, and have the ability to work effectively with different personality types and staff members at all levels of an organization; must also have a knack for problem solving and work well under pressure.
