The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) has announced a call for Community Organizations to strengthen community participation in the identification of areas of environmental and cultural importance for the construction of the PDET.

The call will cover the upper basin of the Sumapaz river and the Río Blanco basin, for the development of its proposal for identification of areas of environmental and cultural importance for the construction of the PDET. The proposal must specify the trails involved.

The execution period of the proposal is two months. The proposal must contain a general schedule with at least two meetings to present progress.

The proposal must present the participatory methodology for identifying environmental priorities and build participatory community strategies for the inclusion of these priorities in the PDET Bogotá Region.

Topics

It is suggested to consider, but not limit yourself in your proposal to the following topics:

Environmental diagnosis of the territory, identifying actors, socio-environmental conflicts -by use and vocation of the soil, impact on biodiversity, climate change, infrastructure, among others – that appear in the locality.
Participatory identification of areas of special environmental importance and current actions implemented by the community for its conservation, as well as future proposals for the ecosystem protection and other community measures for water management, the protection of watersheds and other forms of community environmental protection.
Identification of proposals and sustainable productive alternatives, agroecology, reconversion productive, participatory ecological restoration, ecotourism, farmers markets and other practices related to healthy eating, nutrition and traditional knowledge.

The selected organizations will have a support of 23,000,000 Colombian pesos for their execution and they will be selected by a committee made up of staff from UNDP and the Mayor’s Office.
Proposals are expected to consider:

A differential gender and generational approach and propose an effective and strategic participation of women and youth in project activities and decision-making.
Clearly respond to the interest or need of the local population and contribute to the strengthening of the local capacities and community environmental governance, for the implementation of the PDET of the town of Sumapaz.
Be compatible in their approach and activities with institutional planning guidelines and instruments and community for the conservation and management of the territory.
Contribute to the construction of territorial peace from community processes that contribute to the strengthening of the social fabric, reconciliation and local coexistence.
Eligibility Criteria

Community-based organizations from locality 20 of the upper Sumapaz river basin and the Blanco river are eligible, as: Foundations, corporations, cooperatives, producer associations, community action boards and aqueduct.
The proposal must be thought and presented by the organizations, which have the responsibility to execute it with commitment, responsibility and ownership.
