UNDP announces Call for Proposals to Support Entrepreneurship in Belarus

Project “Support to Economic Development at the Local Level in the Republic of Belarus”, funded by the European Union and implemented by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in partnership with the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Belarus, has announced the Call for proposals for initiatives aimed at developing the infrastructure for supporting entrepreneurship.
The purpose of the Call for proposals is to support initiatives aimed at developing the infrastructure for supporting micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the pilot districts of the Project.
The implementation of the supported initiatives will further contribute to:
- Strengthening the capacity of organizations that play a key role in achieving the goals and solving the issues of local economic development;
- Promoting educational activities and developing interaction between organizations of the non-profit sector, local authorities and the business community;
- Support for non-profit non-governmental public organizations whose activities are aimed at working with the low-income population, at solving environmental problems, ensuring gender equality; and / or
- At the search for innovative approaches to solving problems of further development.
Funding Information
The total indicative budget of the Competition is 1,320,000 (One million three hundred and twenty thousand) US dollars.
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicant organizations may be the following legal entities:
- non-profit non-governmental organizations, which are separate legal persons with their own charter, current account and having one of the following legal forms:
- consumer cooperative
- public organization (association)
- fund
- institution
- association of legal entities and (or) individual entrepreneurs(associations and unions)
- non-profit non-governmental organizations, which are separate legal persons with their own charter, current account and having one of the following legal forms:
- The partners in the initiative may be organizations listed applicant organizations, as well as:
- commercial organizations
- individual entrepreneurs
- business entities without a legal entity
- non-profit organizations (state-public associations, foundations,institutions) registered in the established manner and carrying out activity in the territory of the Republic of Belarus
- district executive committees
- village executive committees
- bodies of territorial and public self-government (with education legal entity) registered in the pilot area
- initiative groups of citizens to create non-profit organizations
- individuals with the intention of registering a legal entity
- international organizations and foundations
- Applications for the Call for proposals are accepted for the further implementation of initiatives in 12 pilot districts of the country:
- Bjaroza and Kobrin districts in Brest region;
- Braslaŭ and Orša districts in Viciebsk region;
- Bragin, Žlobin and Chojniki districts in Homieĺ region;
- Lida district in Hrodna region;
- Barysaŭ and Maladzečna districts in Minsk region;
- Bychaŭ and Kličaŭ in Mahilioŭ region.
