An independent renewables company are currently recruiting for a Project Director to be based from the project site office in Senegal. This role is a fixed term contract for 24months and will require relocation to Senegal for this period.

Reporting to the COO, the successful candidate will manage the execution of an onshore wind farm and will act as the clients representative for the project. He/She is required to have good engineering skills, strong commercial acumen and an excellent working knowledge of EPC contracts and project finance arrangements.

Key experience

• 12+ years experience

• Engineering Degree or equivalent

• Fluency in French and English

• Previous exposure to Wind Power Projects and their construction.

• Strong background in the construction of power projects with non-recourse project finance

• Excellent construction site experience on large scale projects in Africa or emerging markets

• Proven experience managing HSSE and governance risks in large scale EPC projects

• Previous responsibility as the commercial lead for the owner or EPC contractor

• Direct experience in the management of EPC Contractors, Subcontractors and Owner’s Engineering teams.

• Broad knowledge of engineering disciplines (civil, mechanical, electrical, EC&I) on construction projects and extensive awareness of construction methods.

• Extensive knowledge of EPC contract terms and conditions
