U.S. Mission to Nigeria seeking Applications for PEPFAR Small Grants Program 2020

The U.S. Mission Nigeria’s PEPFAR Coordination Office (PCO) is pleased to issue this Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) for their small grant program.

PCO awards a limited number of grants to non-governmental organizations and other civil society entities in support of human rights for key populations (KPs) under their Ambassador’s Small Grants Program (ASG). The grants advance PEPFAR’s overarching goal of ending the AIDS epidemic. The U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for grantAIDS Relief or PEPFAR is the U.S. government’s response to the global HIV/AIDS epidemic and represents the largest commitment by any nation to address a single disease in history.

Projects which may be funded include, but are not limited to, the following:

Educational support or vocational skills acquisition including, but not limited to:
Entrepreneurial skills acquisition and/or vocational skills training with provision of start-up trade tools in support of KPs.
Short term support for KPs in existing educational or training programs
Human rights protection including, but not limited to:
Advocacy for the reform of existing laws and institutional practices that violate human rights of KPs
Safe housing (Shelter) support for KPs
Building capacity within civil society organizations to combat LGBTQ stigma and discrimination.
Assist non-governmental organizations on nondiscriminatory policy reform.
Pro-bono legal support for/with KPs CBOs on rights violations.
Structural training and skills building for law enforcement institutions and agencies or workshops
Social and Behavior Change Communication (SBCC) using online and offline activities on human and HIV+ patient rights.
NGO leadership and resource mobilization skills building.
Advocacy skills building.
Sexual and Gender Diversity inclusion in formal and informal workplace.
Human centered design community driven approaches.
Education and cultural programs for HIV prevention and awareness for key population
Health including, but not limited to:
Developing networks of KPs to increase retention in care
Provision of community level STI services to and with KPs.
Family Planning services with Female Sex Workers, Transpersons and incarcerate populations.
Peer driven online and offline outreaches strategies to reaching KPs and vulnerable populations on service delivery locations and package of services.
SBCC strategies for U=U information with KPs and vulnerable populations.
TB, HIV and Malaria integrated peer driven community services.
Prostate Cancer Screening services for men.
Reaching trans persons and cisgender with health services.
Innovations including, but not limited to:
Use of technology to reach KPs with services, advocate on policy reform and human rights.
U= U campaign design.
Community monitoring of HIV and TB services provision of donor organizations.
Pioneering initiatives in support of KPs will receive equal consideration.
Funding Information

Award amounts: U.S. Mission can contribute up to $25, 000 to any one project.
Total available funding: $300,000
Anticipated program start date: December 1, 2020
