U.S. Mission to Moldova announces Anti-Nostalgia Program

The U.S. Embassy announces a limited competition for assistance awards through this Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) for a program to strengthen Moldova’s information space.

The Embassy invites applicants to identify and extend existing good practices and to include in their proposals a discussion of how the proposal does not duplicate existing activities undertaken by other entities.

Objectives
The objective of the project is to achieve the following:
Build the capacity of Moldovan partners to communicate an accurate message about Moldova’s European trajectory;
Promote Moldovan use of online platforms that provide a richer variety of information online about Moldova and the world.
This proposal plans to fund ideas that have the effect of broadening the sources of information related to Moldova’s history through on-line/in-person debates, conferences, and other instruments with local and/or international speakers/experts. Proposals should include, but are not limited to the following:
The ecological/environmental record;
The quality and availability of medical treatment;
The consumer experience;
Political oppression, deportations;
Lack of political and personal freedom.
Funding Information
Length of performance period: 12 to 36 months
Number of awards anticipated: one award
Award amounts: awards may range from a minimum of $150,000 to a maximum of $250,000
Total available funding: $250,000
Participants and Audiences
Successful proposals should include an assessment and sustainability plan, along with feasible solutions to current issues in the media market.
Interested organizations shall develop a plan that would fit the stated priorities into a comprehensive development strategy.
Eligibility Criteria
The following organizations are eligible to apply:

Not-for-profit organizations, including think tanks and civil society/non-governmental organizations
Mass media registered as Limited Liability Companies.
