U.S. Embassy Maseru Special Projects Office has announced an open competition for organizations interested in submitting applications for a capacity building project for selected grantees of the PEPFAR Small GrantProgram 2019-20.

 

U.S. Embassy Maseru is looking for a well-established countrywide organization that can contact capacity needs assessment and built capacity of selected grantees, between 5-10 groups in project management, financial management, grants management, team building, conflict resolutions,reporting and other required skills.

The organization will contact capacity needs assessment and provide these grantees with skills in project management, financial management, grants management, team building, conflict resolution and other required skills to ensure these projects a sustainable and successful outcome.

The groups to be trained are small groups with community-initiated projects which aim to strengthen health service delivery in communities affected by HIV and AIDS and community groups who support community-based HIV and AIDS care initiatives and Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVC).

Funding Information

  • Estimated Total Program Funding: $25,000
  • Award Ceiling: $25,000
  • Award Floor: $10,000

Grant Conditions

  • PEPFAR Small Grants program funds can be used for:
    • Training and training venue
    • Educational materials and training supplies
    • Equipment, materials and technical training for income-generation projects
    • Facilitation fee
    • Ongoing administrative or operating costs (but no more than 10% of total requested funds budget)
  • PEPFAR Small Grants program funds cannot be used for:
    • Projects managed by private businesses
    • Salaries and/or personal expenses
    • Office equipment such as computers, fax machines, or photocopiers
    • Alcohol

Eligibility Criteria

  • The Special Projects Office welcomes applications from non-governmental organizations (NGOs), Community Based Organizations (CBOs), or Faith Based Organizations (FBOs).
  • Consideration will be given to organizations which:
    • Are well-established and can reach the whole country;
    • Have experience in providing project management training;
    • Are oriented toward communities, not individuals; and
    • Are managed and run by local Basotho groups, e.g. Non-Governmental Organization, Faith-Based Organizations and/or groups of People Living With HIV and AIDS
