U.S. Mission to China: U.S. Consulate General HK, 175th Anniversary Programs

The Public Affairs Section of the U.S. Consulate General Hong Kong has announced a Request for Proposals (RFP) for projects or programs celebrating 175 years of U.S.-Hong Kong relations which aims to solicit projects to showcase:

  • the diverse and broad range of people-to-people connections the United States and Hong Kong have built over the last 175 years;
  • the shared values; and the longstanding presence of the U.S. Consulate General in Hong Kong.

This funding is available through its Public Diplomacy Small Grants Program.

U.S.-Hong Kong ties include, but are not limited to:

  • Diplomatic and business/trade relations;
  • Cultural, educational, and professional exchange;
  • People-to-people ties; or other types of collaboration and cooperation between the people of Hong Kong and the people of the United States of America. All requests are subject to the availability of funding.

Programmes

The PAS Small Grants Program projects may include,but are not limited to,the following types of programs:

  • Performing arts programs that present American music, dance, or theatre to local audiences, performed either by American performers or combinations of local and American performers.
  • Programs that present American society, culture, history, or values to local audiences.
  • The participation of American artists, musicians, performers, and filmmakers in local events and cultural festivals.
  • Bilateral collaborative projects featuring participation of both local and American artists, performers, scholars, and/or other civil society groups.

Funding Information

  • Estimated Total Program Funding: $20,000
  • Award Ceiling: $20,000
  • Award Floor: $1,000

Eligibility Criteria

PAS encourages applications from organizations located in Hong Kong or Macau,such as:

  • Nonprofits having a 501(c)(3) status with the IRS, other than institutions of higher education
  • Nonprofits that do not have a 501(c)(3) status with the IRS, other than institutions of higher education
  • Registered public or private non profit organizations,such as think tanks and civil society/non-governmental organizations with programming experience
    • Educational institutions
    • Governmental institutions
