U.S. Mission to Australia: Regional Workshops on the Future of the U.S. – Australia Alliance

The U.S. Embassy Canberra / Bureau of the East Asia & Pacific of the U.S. Department of State has announced an open competition for organizations to submit proposals for “Regional Workshops on the Future of the U.S. – Australia Alliance” to engage a cross-section of younger Australians (aged 20-30 from multiple sectors) in dynamic discussions and activities that encourages experiential learning and generates new understanding on the future of the U.S.- Australia relationship.
Priority Areas
- Advancing U.S. – Australian cooperation on addressing 21st century challenges including:
- current global security challenges
- free, fair, and reciprocal trade policies
- natural resource management
- Increasing understanding of the depth and breadth of the U.S.-Australia economic partnership;
- Increasing understanding of the benefits of the U.S.-Australia security alliance;
- Providing younger Australians the opportunity to experience less well-known aspects of the United States through U.S. culture and arts programming.

- Estimated Total Program Funding: $150,000
- Award Ceiling: $150,000
- Award Floor: $15,000
Eligibility Criteria
- Australian and U.S.-based not-for-profit organizations, including think tanks and civil society/non-governmental organizations.
- Australian and U.S. public and private educational institutions.
- Public International Organizations and Governmental institutions.
