Trust for London offering Funding to tackle Poverty and Inequality

The Trust for London is seeking applications to fund work which tackles poverty and inequality in the capital. The Trust supports work providing greater insights into the root causes of London’s social problems and how they can be overcome; activities which help people improve their lives; and work empowering Londoners to influence and change policy, practice and public attitudes.

Funding Information

There is no minimum or maximum size of grant and the amount you request should be the amount you need. However, the average grant will be around £80,000 in total (except for Connected Communities – see below). A number of grants will be for a lesser amount, while some will be for more. They do not normally make grants that exceed £150,000.
The amounts may be spread over one, two or three years. For example, if you are awarded a grant of £60,000, this could be £20,000 each year over three years, or £40,000 in the first year and £20,000 in the second. Most of the grants are over two or three years.
The average sized grant made under the Connected Communities programme for small groups will be around £25,000 in total, although some grants will be less than this. You may apply over one, two or three years. The maximum grant under this programme area will be £60,000 in total.

The Trust funds organisations undertaking charitable activities. You do not need to be a registered charity. They will support work which meets the funding programmes. This may be for a specific project or on-going costs. This includes staff salaries and overheads.
The Trust encourages organisations to include a reasonable amount of core costs to cover their overheads when they apply for funding. The majority of the funding is for revenue costs, though they can also fund small capital items.
