We are hiring a Travel Receptionist for our client in the mining sector. The person will be in charge of welcoming travellers by flight (expatriates) and will work directly with the administration team, the supervisor of the Dakar office administration services from the airport.

Job requirements and challenges

Answering calls from travellers;
Communicate on daily travel plans;
Greet and await the arrival and departure of employees at the airport (preferably at or near customs counters, if possible);
Ensure that company travellers are not solicited by thugs at airports;
Provide orientation to the hotel or airport;
Proactively communicating with airlines and airport authorities about flight arrival/departure times, delays, to inform hotels to rearrange meal and shuttle bookings;
Facilitating relations with airport authorities;
Informing of any potential risks during the trip confirmed by the entity’s security team (political riots, roadblocks, terrorist
roadblocks, terrorist attacks, strikes, etc.);
Inform the management team of any problems travellers may encounter with airport authorities;
Welcoming the entity’s travellers and proactively informing them of changes and conditions for check-in, boarding/disembarkation and flights;
Provide updates at check-in counters or at the inspection gate;
Providing up-to-date information to pass on to travellers;
Remain available during travellers’ stay at the hotel to answer questions about Senegal, upcoming flights, currency changes, etc.
Ensure that an alternative transport plan is always available, if the original plan is compromised due to maintenance or severe delays;
Proactively check all hotel check-in requirements prior to the international flight (document list and baggage weight);
Proactively manage any excess baggage that needs to be transported safely from the hotel where travellers are staying to the mine site

Qualifications required for the position

At least a high school diploma / A diploma of specialization in tourism and or guiding

Experience, skills and knowledge

Good command of French and English, both written and spoken ;
At least three (03) years of experience working at the airport;
Skilled in first aid techniques;
Good knowledge of computer tools (the Microsoft Office suite) ;
Good knowledge of airport security regulations;
Good professional network at Dakar airport;
Good knowledge of the Dakar area, the route to the airport ;
Managerial skills, but also project management, budgeting and reporting in line with key performance indicators.
