Thomson Reuters Foundation: Seeking Applications for Reporting Gender Rights

Thomson Reuters Foundation and Birzeit University are proud to organize a training workshop for Palestinian journalists covering gender issues.
The course will provide an overview of the main challenges and achievements of Palestinian women, media coverage of women and men and how to improve them, how to monitor and evaluate women’s media coverage, how to choose the best story angle, interview skills, ethics and verifying facts. In addition, the course will also include multimedia as an important element in storytelling, including components such as photography, video, audio and mobile photography.
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants must be bloggers or journalists working in a media outlet in Palestine, regardless of whether they are printed, visual, audio or electronic.
- Applicants must have between 2 and 6 years of professional experience in the media.
- Applicants must demonstrate their commitment to the press and a strong interest in covering issues of women and men.
- Applicants must adhere to the entire course and produce a story on women’s and men’s issues after the course.
