The US Embassy in Senegal is seeking a Tailor/Upholsterer.

Salary: XOF CFA6,511,970 – XOF CFA6,511,970

Duties

Utilizing skills in tailoring, upholstery, sewing, and fabric selection, this person will provide timely refurbishment of couches, loveseats, and chairs. Plans and produces curtains and drapery for American occupied offices and residences. Installs new drapes once they have been purchased. Must be able to perform work correctly and efficiently while adhering to high customer service standards and applicable regulations. Position is supervised by the Supply Supervisor.

Job Requirements:

Experience: One year of experience as a journeyman level tailor/upholsterer is required.

Education Requirements: Completion of Elementary School and completion of one (1) vocational training, apprenticeship, or equivalent experience recognized as producing journeyman tailor/upholsterer skills is required.

Language:

Level II (Limited Knowledge) speaking/reading/writing of French is required. (This may be tested)
Level II (Limited Knowledge) speaking/reading/writing of English is required. (This may be tested)
Skills and abilities

Must be able to sew, upholster, and make curtains and drapes to spec. Must be able to lift furniture and other heavy objects up to 20 kg.
