The US Embassy Dakar recruits 01 Shipment Assistant
Salary: 10.676.415 FCFA/year

Facilitates shipments in and out of Dakar. Expedites customs clearances of all USG equipment, goods, and supplies, as well as household effects of US citizen personnel assigned to the US mission. Carries out tasks accurately, efficiently, and honestly, while maintaining excellent customer service standards. Protects against waste and fraud. Serves as second-in-command for Shipping Section and as Acting Shipping Supervisor in the absence of the Shipping Supervisor.
Experience: Four years of progressively responsible experience in transportation, property management, shipping, warehousing, or inventory is required.
- Must have detailed knowledge of Senegalese customs, immigration and transportation requirements.
- Must be familiar with regulations governing shipping and transportation. A good working knowledge of regional and local shipping and transportation companies, capabilities, and quality of work are required.
Education Requirements: Two years of post-secondary school education is required.
- Language: Level 3 (good working Knowledge) in English is required. Level 4 (fluency, speaking, reading, writing) in French is required.
- Skills and abilities: Must be tactful in dealing with customs personnel in order to effect the rapid clearance of shipments. Must be able to establish and maintain an effective network among shipping companies. Must have a valid driver’s license. Must be proficient in Excel and Word.
Qualifications: All applicants under consideration will be required to pass medical and security certifications.
