The Teranga Gold Corporation is hiring a Construction Supervisor.

This is national position: 4 weeks on / 2 weeks off roster to our Sabodala mine site operations in Senegal.

This position will report to Niakafiri Project Manager & assist with the realization of construction and respect whilst delivering projects safely, on time and in budget, effectively manage several major projects simultaneously with multiple work teams, deliver safely on budget and on time while maintaining quality and standards, train and support employees with the team, identify areas for improvement within the department’s areas of responsibility and effectively communicate.

Your key Responsibilities at Teranga Gold Corporation
Ensure appropriate PPE is obtained, maintained and worn during work hours.
Ensure safety is always maintained for own work and team members.
Plan daily work in line with targets and deliver work instructions at pre-shift meetings.
Supervise construction works including earth works and building.
Place and track project orders in Pronto.
Produce and monitor weekly plans and schedules.
Effective management of the work schedules and team members.
Work effectively and diligently to ensure time lines are maintained.
Assist with the update of Skills Training Matrix.
Must be required to carry out hand labor and other work which may be requested from time to time by Head of Department.
Efficiently use of time. Should work slow, advise Head of Department and request further work.
Attend and chair all Toolbox meetings on a weekly basis, record and document minutes
The Construction Supervisor required skills & experience
A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role within the Construction Industry
An understanding of all construction works and processes
Written and verbal communications skills in English and French
Effectively interpret drawings
A competent understanding quality control and quality assurance processes.
Disciplined project management skills that have proven to be effective in a similar mining environment.
Ability to multitask several projects concurrently
MS Projects, Word, Power Point, Excel, Pronto or similar CMMS
Able to work independently
Able to plan, prioritize and organize.
Demonstrate honesty and ability to work in a close team environment
Able to analyse and solve problems.
Good time management.
Patient and adaptable with proven ability to work with a diverse group
Ability to recognise errors quickly and apply remediation/recovery with minimal interruption to project timelines
Must be able to work in a team environment
Demonstrate the ability to meet deadlines with minimal supervision
Must be able to work in a multicultural environment
Must be flexible with working hours and roster
