The ReRoot Asia Fund (RAF) aims at strengthening and supporting Asia based advocates to develop localized, context-specific interventions making diet change, while contributing to building an inclusive, equitable, and sustainable animal justice movement in Asia.RAF is Animal Alliance Asia (AAA)’s grant program, to help dispense funds from grant-making organisations and donors looking to fund animal and vegan advocates and organisations in Asia.Priority Areas
  • The focus is on identifying projects that present solutions and deliver impact.The priority is given to projects that focus on diet change. Such projects include but are not limited to: public awareness, institutional engagement, research, education, art, policy change and movement-building.The grants will largely be targeted towards grassroots initiatives.They look to support People of the Global Majority, and other marginalised persons, and preference organisations that are led by women and gender minorities in leadership roles, and regions that currently receive less support.
  • Funding Information
  • Grants are $1,000 – $ 5,000 (USD).
  • Eligible Countries
  • Indonesia, Philippines, Taiwan, Japan, Pakistan, Vietnam, and Nepal
  • Eligibility Criteria
  • They are able to fund:
    • Individuals residing in AsiaOrganisations that are registered or working in Asia. Must be Asian founded and led. Applicants need to be in the decision-making position of the organisationA non-government, not-for-profit organisation
  • Ineligible
  • They are not able to fund:
    • An individual who is representing a government or for-profit organisationAn organisation that has already submitted a proposal in this roundA project that will have non-vegan food served at its eventsIndividuals or Organisations who support any form of animal exploitationFor-profit projectsActions and behaviours that conflict with their values, commitments, and efforts to create a more inclusive, equitable, and diverse movementAny political parties, campaigns, lobbying, and endorsementsLegal defenceProtests and demonstrationsTuition or course feesRecurring operational costs (like utility bills or rental)Salaries that are not related to the proposed projectCash prizes or commercial gifts
