Job Responsibilities Major duties and responsibilities IFES is seeking candidates for a training expert to co-facilitate a workshop on electoral leadership with election management body officials in Dakar, Senegal. IFES’ Executive Curriculum in Electoral Leadership (iEXCEL) is a scenario-based electoral leadership curriculum that develops the skills needed to strengthen institutional independence, deliver elections within the context of a crisis, resist manipulation of elections by political actors and foster institutional resilience and capacity. IFES intends to provide this training to the General Directorate for Elections (DGE) in Senegal as part of its USAID-funded program to support the electoral process. The consultant will work under the direction of the IFES Country Director in Senegal and serve as part of a three-person training team for the workshop scheduled for January 16-21, 2023.Key responsibilities will include • Review and understand the curriculum for iEXCEL. • Attend virtual or in-person planning meetings. • Master designated training components and lead those sessions for iEXCEL in collaboration with and as part of the training team. • Support IFES program team in collection of data and effective reporting.Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in international relations, political science or a related field. • 5-9 years of experience working on democracy, governance, or elections programming, with experience in electoral analysis and training. • Professional experience in elections in Africa is required. • Demonstrated knowledge of electoral systems and international standards for election management. • Ability to communicate clearly and collaboratively as part of a team. • Fluency in French. Knowledge of English is preferred. | |
