Job Description
SNV is seeking a Stakeholder Engagement Lead for the Sahel Collaboration and Communication (SCC) Activity, a five-year, $16 million USAID opportunity. This proposed program will promote collaboration, learning and adapting (CLA) for collective impact among USAID, implementing partners, government institutions and research institutions. This Activity will also build local capacity for learning and adaptation. SCC will improve CLA among all stakeholders in order to enhance development results and help USAID better communicate those results.
Responsibilities:
·         Identification, outreach, relationship building and engagement with key local stakeholders (national and local government, civil society, private sector) engaged in resilience and countering violent extremism (CVE) activities
·         Facilitate dialogue to develop joint strategies and work plans, organize regular discussion forums to determine best ways to answer project learning questions
·         Analyze needs and capacities of local government and civil society orgs and communities to determine how locally-led collaborating, learning and adaptation (CLA) approaches can help them address development challenges
·         Increase capacity for organizational and technical learning and the ability to apply that learning among local stakeholders
·         Primarily responsible for delivering learning results and tracking adaptations for lessons learned from local stakeholders
·         Present learning findings within the broader contexts of resilience and CVE to influence policy makers and development partners to scale up investments in the approaches and practices demonstrated by USAID
·         Collaborate closely with and manage technical specialist staff who will in turn provide capacity building to local stakeholders based on their area of technical expertise (e.g. governance, agriculture, water/WASH etc.)
Qualifications
·         A Master’s Degree in international development, agriculture, WASH, natural resource management, governance or other related field
·         At least 8 years of progressive experience in providing capacity building support to local actors to improve performance and increase collaboration and learning
·         Experience in implementing donor-funded projects
·         Excellent team management and interpersonal skills
·         Strong facilitation skills.
·         Excellent team management and interpersonal skills.
·         Fluency in spoken and written French and at least one of the major languages of Niger. Proficiency in English
