Save The Children recrute 01 Communications Intern -WCA

In 2016, Save the Children launched the global Every Last Child campaign. The campaign focuses on tackling the financial, discriminatory and political barriers which prevent the most excluded children from surviving and learning. As part of this campaign, Save the Children in West and Central Africa has identified Child Marriage as a priority thematic, and following the High Level Meeting on Ending Child Marriage hosted in Dakar last year, our advocacy, campaigning, media and communications efforts will continue to focus on this issue. It is in line with this that the Communications intern will work to support and ensure our communications goals are achieved.

2. Objectives of the assignment

a) Develop presentations and other supporting communication and visual materials
b) Manage Save the Children WCA’s different social media accounts
c) Help with content creation and its dissemination
d) Support with the development and translation of communication tools (articles, messages and reports)
e) Provide logistics support with organizing and writing minutes for key team meetings and moments
f) Help with collating feedback on documents
g) Ensure documents and tools are updated on the different internal communications platforms
h) Other adhoc support to the team, when required

3. Expected outputs/specific deliverables
Strengthen our internal communications capacity

Ensure effective and timely internal communications around the Advocacy, Campaign, Media and Communications’ activities
Develop and update internal documents for the different internal communications platforms

Strengthen our internal and external communication material

Develop quality presentations and other supporting communications material (flyers, articles etc.)
Take photos and write articles upon request
Grow Save the Children in WCA’s engagement on social media

Provide overall support to the team

Efficient organization of meetings, with timely circulation of minutes
Communication tools are managed and kept up to date
Documents are translated into French and English

4. Profile of the Intern
Communications and/or media background with possibly 1 year of experience
Experience creating presentations and other communications material
Ability to plan, organize and manage own workload
Ability to process large volumes of information in French and English
Willingness to learn and ability to work in high-pressure environments
Video and photo editing skills desired
Creative thinking

5. Duration of the assignment
The duration of the work is of 6 months.

6. Reporting lines during the assignment
The intern will be reporting to the Regional Communications Manager.
