Save the children recruits 01 Regional Office Finance Manager
The role
As a member of the WCA Regional Office (RO) Extended Senior Management Team, the RO Finance Manager will ensure strong financial management and controls, contributing to the smooth running of the RO and successful delivery of the programmes that this office implements.
The role holder will manage the RO finance team, overseeing accounting, budgeting and forecasting, financial reporting, management accounts and bank and cash payments both for RO functions and for the programmes run from the RO.
The role holder will be a key business partner for other RO staff. (S)he will work with the different RO functional leads on their annual budgets and provide analysis on spend; (s)he will also develop proposal budgets and provide donor financial reporting for RO programmes.
In the event of a major humanitarian emergency, the role holder will be expected to work outside the normal job descriptions and be able to vary working hours accordingly.
Qualifications and experience
- Accounting or commerce degree and/or relevant full professional qualifications (CPA/CA/ACCA)
- Fluent in French and English
- Minimum of 3 years similar progressive work experience in financial management. SCI or other Not-for-profit experience an advantage
- An unquestionably high level of integrity and ethics
- Demonstrable ability to adapt to challenging working environments
- Demonstrable experience in identifying issues in financial management, applying sustainable solutions, and supporting teams to achieve results
- Proven experience in training and capacity building of staff and teams, including coaching and mentoring staff
- Knowledge and use of financial software packages. Agresso experience preferred.
- Ability to adapt quickly to a new environment and achieve results with multiple priorities and deadlines
- Strong results orientation, with the ability to challenge existing mind-sets
- Highly developed cultural awareness and ability to work well in an international environment with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures
- Demonstrable ability of working with a range of stakeholders
- Ability to focus on strategic finance issues and advise key stakeholders

- Contract length: 2 years renewable
Location: Dakar /Senegal
