ROLE PURPOSE
The Deputy Finance Director will support and strengthen theintegrity of finance systems, ensure smooth financial operations for supportingprogramme work and responsibility for updating and generating timely financialinformation to management and other levels within the managing member andparticipating members. The Deputy Finance Director will ensure smooth,effective and efficient operational finance support to the country and fieldoffices. A succession plan is in place and it is envisaged that the successfulcandidate for Deputy Finance Director will succeed the Finance Director in thenear future.
This is a challenging role in a complex environment. It requires adedicated, experienced and highly motivated individual who can manage thedifficulties of living and working in such an environment and still befundamental in helping to drive forward our programmes and our ambitions.Equally, South Sudan today is a rewarding place to be – a new country that stillneeds much of its plans for the future to be laid out and put in place. QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Professional qualifications inAccounting (CPA or ACCA) and/or a degree in Accounting
At least five year’s INGOs experienceespecially in complex budget setting (in excess of $20 m), monitoring  and financial accounting
Proven experience to help facilitate asmooth audit process and work efficiently with external auditors
Proven skills on managing changes,achieving results, ensuring quality, team building and capacity building.
Strong computer skills, especially incomputerised accounting packages such as AGRESSO
Ability and willingness to work underpressure as part of a professional team.
Excellent interpersonal skills,including cultural sensitivity, assertiveness and negotiating skills.
Willingness to travel to field officesregularly
Experience of working in a busy INGOenvironment preferably outside of own country
Desirable:
Prior work experience in a high-profilecrisis or conflict setting

The duties and responsibilities as setout above are not exhaustive and the role holder may be required to carry outadditional duties within reasonableness of their level of skills andexperience.
Contract length: 2 years
