Request for Applications: Armenian Civil Society Organizations

The Counterpart International’s Civil Society in Action project, in partnership with Urban Foundation for Sustainable Development through the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), is seeking Applications (RFA) from Armenian civil society organizations.
Objectives
- Improving the financial stability of CSOs
- Capacity building of community-based organizations
Goals
- Promotion of CSO government dialogue in the direction of state policy development
- Support for initiatives arising from local needs
Focus Areas
- Partnership between CSOs, public and private sectors relationship promotion mechanisms (CPPP)
- Promotion of charity by local organizations
- Innovative and/ or sustainable financial mechanisms of CSOs
- Other initiatives that will ultimately contribute to the financial sustainability of CSOs.

- Domestic philanthropy
- Innovative and/or sustainable financing mechanisms for civil society organizations
- Other initiatives that will ultimately contribute to civil society financial viability
Funding Information
- GKH-Counterpart plans to provide grants for the first year of up to 10,000,000 AMD each, of which up to 9,200,000 AMD for project implementation and up to 800,000 AMD for organizational development (OD).
Eligibility Criteria
- The applicant or application must meet the following requirements:
- The organization must be officially registered in Armenia Applicants are encouraged to contribute up to twenty percent (20%) to the implementation of the project (in cash or in kind) from their own funds or, if possible, from other local sources. (Note that time volunteered by an employee of the organization (ie, additional, unpaid working time donated by an employee of the organization) will not be considered as a contribution) in the Republic of Armenia (RA) and act according to RA legislation. In case the applicant is not yet registered, the application must clearly state the obligation to register before signing the contract.
- The application must comply with the goals and principles of the program, include expected results that should be consistent with and related to project objectives;
- Applicant must not be barred by the US government in the list of organizations.
- They have the right to participate in the National People’s Congress:
- civil society organizations,
- foundations,
- professional associations.
Application Requirements
- Application instructions:
- At the discretion of the applicant, the application can be submitted in Armenian or English using 12 font size, single space between lines, A4 page format.
- The volume of the application should not exceed nine (9) pages.
- The applicant must attach the state registration certificate of the organization copy.
- Appendices and attached documents do not count toward the nine (9) page maximum in volume.
- The application and all attached documents must be submitted in one common sealed and signed PDF document.
- Application will be rejected if it does not conform to the format provided.
- Submitting an application in accordance with the instructions does not guarantee that the program will be financed.
- GKH-Counterpart will not compensate for the preparation of the application package and or any costs associated with the submission.
