Deadline: 28-Nov-21

Are you an LGBTQIA+ identifying playwright with a new play idea? If yes, then apply for The Major Grant program.

Priority for an under-represented playwright and subject matter in the Queer Community toward producing and publication consideration.

Pride Foundation Australia (PFA – formerly GALFA) is a national philanthropic foundation specifically focused on funding lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, queer, intersex, asexual and other (LGBTQIA+) community issues in Australia.

The Foundation actively works to increase philanthropic support for the Australian LGBTQIA+ and allied communities through fundraising, grant giving, collaboration and commissioning projects.

Pride Foundation Australia has a dedicated focus on advancing equity for the most disadvantaged LGBTQIA+ Australians, including advocating for systemic change and LGBTQIA creative arts.

Eligibility Criteria
The following general criteria must be met when applying for funds:
The activity seeking funding must be either solely or chiefly focused on the good and betterment of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Intersex people and allied communities in Australia.
All grant applications have to meet the funding priorities as set from time to time by the Foundation.
Commonly The Major Grants Are Suited To Projects Including:
Community development
Education initiatives
Applied, community-led research with tangible outcomes in the field
Events or conferences
The grants are not intended to support capital and building works, vehicles, furniture or equipment, general fund-raising, travel, books or religious activities.
DGR Status
Organisations are usually required to have DGR1 (Deductible Gift Recipient-Item 1) and TCC (Tax Concession Charity) status from the Australian Tax Office.
Groups without DGR1 or TCC status may apply through an organisation that has DGR1 and TCC that agrees to auspice the project. Prior to making a grant for an auspiced project, there needs to be an auspice agreement between the project proposer and auspice organisation that is acceptable to the Foundation.
