The position of Regional Learning and Development Training of Trainers Advisor will provide support within Plan International and across partner agencies and National Offices to assist in building a wide pool of high-quality expert trainers. This is to ensure that high quality learning programmes can take place at all levels but especially, the field level.
Dimensions of the Role
This position will build the capacity of staff to facilitate humanitarian learning across organizations and across the region. Working closely with the Global TOT Adviser (hosted by Save the Children) and RESA TOT Advisor (hosted by World Vision) as well as internal L&D Manager, WARO Regional HRBP and L&D Advisor, Country HRMS and subject matter experts. The role will not have any direct reports and no direct budget responsibility, although will be required to monitor spend based on the grant amount for the region and report back Global TOT Advisor as well as attempting to reduce costs (for example through leveraging online learning options).
Accountabilities
– Networking/communication to establish a cross-agency pool of trainers who can support and build capacity among member/collaborating agencies/offices (both INGOs and local NGO partners).
– Liaising with Global TOT Advisor and RESA TOT Adviser hosted within other agencies to promote the TOT programme so it is recognised as an asset to be utilised within the region.
– Implementation of the TOT framework through the planning, delivery and roll out of bronze, silver and gold training activities (including all logistics, communication and planning of training events).
– Contribute to the establishment of a system to build the capacity of a pool or trainers throughout the region and among different member agencies (both INGOs and local NGO partners).
– Create, develop and maintain an up to date roster of trained trainers, made available to member agencies/offices to train and facilitate a broad range of initiatives.
– Monitor and support all learners and their learning requirements to certify, quality assure and oversee their advancement as they progress through the programme levels.
– Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the trainers (through observation and follow up) and capture key learnings for dissemination to partner agencies.
– Other duties and support to the wider team in projects and initiatives as required.
Ensures that Plan International’s global policies for Safeguarding Children and Young People and Gender Equality and Inclusion are fully embedded in – accordance with the principles and requirements of the policy including relevant Implementation Standards and Guidelines as applicable to their area of responsibility. This includes, but is not limited to, ensuring staff and associates are aware of and understand their responsibilities under these policies and Plan International’s Code of Conduct (CoC), their relevance to their area of work, and that concerns are reported and managed in accordance with the appropriate procedures.

Technical expertise, skills and knowledge
Knowledge of:
– Humanitarian sector and /or experience of working in an International/National NGO
– Adult learning theories and supporting technologies with an understanding of instructional design
– The differences between and potential benefits of a variety of learning delivery channels (70/20/10 principles for example)
– Managing rollout and logistics of large scale learning events – face to face and on-line
– Application of diversity and inclusion principles and research within managing and implementing learning and development programmes and offerings
– Co-reviewing and feedback on programme design in collaboration with Learning & Development Manager
– How to identify, evaluate and demonstrate tangible business and performance benefits from learning interventions
– Monitoring, evaluation and ROI analysis – analysing, using an making decisions and recommendations based on evidence, regular reflective learning and sharing of knowledge
