Plan International Ethiopia is looking for Technical and Finance Lead for SNNP Program Area , Hawassa Office who will be reporting to the Chief of Party.
Dimensions of the Role
The Technical and Finance Lead will support the Chief of Party in the management of the USAID-funded Community Worker Wellness project in Hawassa, Ethiopia. S/he will be in charge of providing technical, financial, and managerial leadership including technical oversight, financial management and administration and grants management. S/he oversees coordination of field operations, provide support in the management of sub-grantees, and ensure that activities meeting USAID and Plan standards.
The position is contingent upon award of the project and approval by USAID
Accountabilities
Provides day-to-day leadership and high quality delivery of the project: field operations, administration, logistics and procurement
Manages, in coordination with the COP, relationships and work with implementing partner organizations
Manages donor relationships and serves, along with the COP, as the primary project representative
Oversees the development of project reports, annual work plans, and other documents as required by USAID and the Government of Ethiopia
Facilitates knowledge management, communications, and information flow for the project
Maintains a working knowledge of project budgets and expenditure, and sets up and implements appropriate systems for project financials
Serves as Acting Chief of Party when the Chief of Party is unavailable
Ensures compliance in reporting to USAID, Plan International, Plan US National Office (USNO) and Government of Ethiopia counterparts
Technical expertise, skills and knowledge
Ethiopian National; experience working in Hawassa/SNNPR preferred
Master’s Degree
Must be capable of fulfilling role of Chief of Party in that person’s absence
Experience managing donor funds such as USAID, DFID and GF, including multi country grants
Substantial related experience working in project financial management for NGOs
Strong knowledge of international donor requirements
Demonstrated knowledge of USAID project management including USAID rules and regulation and reporting requirements
Fluency in English and Amharic (both spoken and written)
 The closing date for the application is May 19, 2019.
This position is only open to Ethiopian Nationals, who must be eligible to live and work in Ethiopia.
