Senior Grants Compliance Manager
Location: Bangui, Central African Republic
Company: Plan International
The OrganisationPlan International is an independent development and humanitarian organisation that advances children’s rights and equality for girls.
We believe in the power and potential of every child. But this is often suppressed by poverty, violence, exclusion and discrimination. And it’s girls who are most affected.
Working together with children, young people, our supporters and partners, we strive for a just world, tackling the root causes of the challenges facing girls and all vulnerable children.
We support children’s rights from birth until they reach adulthood. And we enable children to prepare for – and respond to – crises and adversity. We drive changes in practice and policy at local, national and global levels using our reach, experience and knowledge.
We have been building powerful partnerships for children for over 80 years, and are now active in more than 70 countries.
The OpportunityAs the Senior Grant Compliance Manager in the Central African Republic you will focus on coordinating grants management and reporting processes. You will work in collaboration with other Grants and Finance staff to produce high-quality and timely donor reports and build staff capacity on grants and reporting. You will be responsible for providing programme and support teams with general grants management support and advise on donor compliance and Plan International CAR to ensure grants are implemented on-track, on-time and on-budget.
In this role you will manage all external reporting to ensure timely delivery of high-quality reports which meet donor and Plan International requirements, coordinating closely with Portfolio Managers and Finance coordinators. You will ensure quality information management related to reporting by overseeing the regular maintenance of grant files, reporting calendars, and updating of internal Plan International documentation and Grant Unit tools.
The IndividualWe are looking to recruit an organised individual who has at least 7 years’ relevant experience in Finance, Grants Management or Business Development and at least 2 years’ experience working in a conflict zone. You will be able to manage a portfolio of multiple donors and you will have good knowledge of donors such as WFP, GFFO, ECHO, SIDA, UNICEF and ECW. You will also have the ability to converse and produce working documents in both English and French.
To be successful in this role you will have excellent IT skills, including good knowledge of SAP and Microsoft Office. You will have the ability to work in a multicultural environment and you will also be a hard worker who works well under pressure.
