People’s United Community Foundation Grants: Inviting Organizations based in the US

The People’s United Community Foundation is seeking proposals from organizations that enhance the quality of life for residents, promote the economic development and well-being of neighborhoods and support the educational and developmental needs of children and youth, with special emphasis given to programs and services in low-income areas.

Grant Information

The majority of People’s United Community Foundation grants are less than $10,000 with the average grant being $5,000. If this is their first time applying for a grant from the People’s United Community Foundation, they recommend their request fall within our average grant size. This does not imply that the Foundation will approve the amount requested, nor does it guarantee funding. The minimum grant request amount is $2,500.

Eligibility Criteria

To be considered for a grant from People’s United Community Foundation, organizations must meet the following minimum eligibility requirements:

  • Organization must be operating as a recognized public 501(c)3 nonprofit organization for a minimum of 2 years, and the program/service for which funding is being requested must be operating for a minimum of 12 months.
  • Must operate or serve individuals within the cities/towns where People’s United Bank branches are located.
  • Grant request must fit within three areas of focus (community development, youth development and affordable housing) and align with our priorities of economic stability, employment, education, and housing.
  • Organizational category and/or the program/service for which applicant are seeking funding must NOT be on PUCF’s list of ineligible activities.
