This position is open to qualified Somali candidates. Female candidates in particular, are encouraged to apply.
What will you do?
• Track and monitor of incoming shipments.
• Coordinate with the warehouse supervisor and contractor to ensure availability of space in warehouse/distribution plans.
• Ensure data correctness to facilitate clearing of cargo.
• Liaise with the clearing agent and ensure timely availability of documentation.
• Oversee the day-to-day operations of the clearing agent.
• Check all invoices for clearing/forwarding services against service requests.
• Record and retrieve information related to supply/logistics including receiving documents and data for input and completing the established input procedures.
• Submit regular reports for a continuous overview of supply chain operations including volumes, values, incoming goods, warehouse stocks and distribution.
• Participate in regular warehouse physical inventory counts and submission of subsequent inventory reports.
• Produce official release and receiving documents.
• Perform any other duties as requested by the supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications :
Education : Secondary school education.
Experience : At least three years of experience in logistics, transport and port operations in the humanitarian sector. A certified first degree from a recognized university, studying in logistics, transport or operations may be considered in lieu of the years of experience.
Knowledge & Skills :
• Knowledge of work routines and methods of port operations.
• Proficient in the use of office equipment and Microsoft Office tools.
• Ability to identify data discrepancies and rectify problems requiring attention
• Uses tact and courtesy to give and receive information to a wide range of individuals.
Languages :    Fluency in English and Somali language.
Terms and Conditions :
Contract Duration : 11 Months
