Votre rôle

As a Senior SQL Database Engineer, you will be expected to define the strategy for our Enterprise Data across the various business units, including:

Leading and enforcing the strategic design and maintenance of the data warehouse and business intelligence applications

Administer and/or refine the current database environments and data governance strategies to align with corporate strategic objectives

Mentoring and coaching team members on best practices

Prioritize workload and produce highly confident estimates for all solution implementations

Capture, document and analyze business requirements: transitioning to technical solutions

Provide technical guidance, establishing oneself as an advisor to the cross-functional BI stakeholders

Maintain a high level of awareness of the current and future database technologies and best practices

Model database systems for performance and scalability

Partner with the Tools Lifecycle and Project Management team, BI users, other developers and Operations & Performance Management teams to define requirements, troubleshoot issues, fix bugs and build out new solutions

Administer MS SQL Server databases (2005 – 2016, on-prem and Azure)

Write SQL including stored procedures, macros and ETL packages

Design and develop logical and physical data models and databases

Monitor and proactively plan for database expansion and performance by understanding the business growth, plans and requirements

Votre profil

8+ years hands on database experience including database development and administration within Microsoft SQL Server environment which includes SQL Server, SSIS, SSAS and SSRS.

Strong project management disciplines and communication skills, including a demonstrated track record in managing and delivering multiple projects with aggressive timelines in a fast-paced environment

BS degree in computer science, MIS or other related technical discipline is required

Experience with Replication, Azure and/or Power BI is a strong plus

Excellent knowledge of SQL and relational database systems

Extensive technical knowledge and experience in database management techniques including logical data modeling, physical database optimization, data distribution, security, and database performance monitoring

Knowledge and awareness of networking and storage impacts pertaining to database design, optimization, and implementation within a VM environment

Proven experience in strategies/techniques for implementing data warehousing/BI support systems

Knowledge of high availability, fault tolerance, and disaster recovery strategies

A history of increasing responsibility in the database arena

Good Communication- Negotiations and facilitation and get everyone to consensus

Ability to communicate technical issues to non-technical users in multiple time zones

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in related technical field

8+ years of associated work experience

8+ years of SQL Server experience with at least 3+ years using SQL2012 and above. Expert in Microsoft SQL server and other back-end MS technologies, including SSIS, SSRS and SSAS

4+ years of good data analysis experience using Microsoft Excel, MS Access, VBA, and other similar tools, including excel based reporting, power pivots, power BI and others

Provides leadership and technical direction for the development, design, and systems integration for various business requirements from definition phase through implementation

Microsoft certified professional (BI, SQL, .NET) – Azure/Cloud implementation experience and knowledge. SQL Server certifications

Strong Database (SQL Server) and Programming experience background

Ability to understand the various data sets available in the Orange Business Services environment to architect, design and develop solutions to current business situations
