Our mission is to replace dirty and expensive lighting solutions with sustainable energy alternatives for the 150 million people living without electricity in West Africa. Launched in 2015, our young and dynamic team quickly became the leader in distribution and financing of off-grid solar systems in Senegal, Mali, Burkina Faso, Niger and Nigeria!

About the position

The Dev Team Manager leads the team of software developers keeping them on task and ensuring product quality for the Oolu Hub (our custom-made application) and its integration with external applications (e.g. mobile money providers, bulk SMS, etc.). We expect you to be curious about the different ways the Oolu Hub is used in the company in order to propose improvements, to be detailed oriented in order to understand the implications of the changes you propose, to test new versions in order to help identify and resolve bugs and be a good communicator.

You will also manage and train a small BI team building dashboards and extractions to help the company access critical information in order to make data-driven decisions.

Key responsibilities

– Ensure product quality: bug resolution, improvements, testing
Work with the different departments to define the requirements and support the
development, the roll out and the testing of new features and tools
– Be the contact person between the different departments and the developers
– Work with external partners to support integration and new projects (e.g. API
integration with a payment provider)

Skills & Qualities
– IT Project management skills
– Curiosity toward the use of technology in a rural setting
– Proven ability to work independently and manage a small team of developers
– Technical knowledge of programming languages, data management and BI tools
– French and English proficiency is required
– Proven, strong communication skills and ability to work cross-culturally
– Persistence, sense of humor and an open mind!
