The Solutions Division’s mission is to build and scale sustainable, high-impact digital solutions that amplify frontline workers and programs in Low and Middle Income Countries (LMICs). We offer professional services to partners to impactfully deliver Dimagi technology and / or programmatic expertise.
About the Position
Dimagi is looking for a Project Manager to join our Solutions Division in Dakar, Senegal. The Project Manager is a key member of the Project Delivery team, and will manage our project teams in creating high-impact, reliable, user-friendly digital systems for Dimagi’s partners. In this role, you will lead a project team working on the optimal design and development of applications built on Dimagi’s flagship platform CommCare and other platforms – including requirements gathering, design, testing, implementation, and monitoring.
Responsibilities
- Manage the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders to ensure feasibility within timeframe and budget
- Develop a detailed project plan, set-up milestones, monitor and track progress and quality, and perform appropriate risk management.
- Manage project tracking tools (e.g., Asana, Jira, etc.) as relevant.
- Create and maintain a project budget with accompanying SoW, and make adjustments to project constraints based on financial analysis
- Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule and project costs using appropriate change control techniques.
- Manage the relationship with the client and all stakeholders. Ensure that all expectations are anticipated and managed adequately
- Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including required project documentation to ensure milestones can be validated by the client
- Amplify the work of a team by knowing everyone’s strengths and weaknesses and keep the team motivated, resolve conflicts and make hard decisions. Coach, guide, lead and direct the work of the project team.
- Provides insight on how to strengthen efficiency and improve internal processes.
Relevant Skills
- 3+ years of experience in project coordination or project management
- Experience working on software projects
- Experience working in and coordinating with dynamic teams
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences
- Ability to balance multiple projects
- Excellent organization skills
- Interest in making a social impact
- Eligible to work in Senegal
- Travel required in Sub Saharan Africa
- English and French are mandatory
- (Bonus) Formal training in Project Management or related disciplines, including through a degree program or dedicated training program
- (Bonus) Experience using project management tools like Asana, Jira, or Confluence.
- (Bonus) Experience with system and scenario flow diagrams, functional user assessments and testing, architecture and content structure, and technical specifications

Given our social mission, our budgeted salary scale is more in-line with that of a non-profit organization. The gross annual salary for this position is 40,518,868 XOF.
Since Dimagi does not have a legal entity in Senegal, your employment contract will be established through our partner Professional Employer Organization (PEO). The compensation and benefits provided to you will be compliant with local labor laws.
