Office of Science, Innovation and Technology launches STEM Network Grant – US

The Office of Science, Innovation and Technology (OSIT) is pleased to launch the STEM Network Grant to promote, coordinate and align education, workforce, and economic development and diversification efforts in the areas of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).

Programs

Northwestern Nevada Regional: To support and fund initiatives that move the Northwestern Regional STEM Network closer to its ultimate objective: Northwestern Nevada has an educated, skilled, and diverse STEM workforce that meets the needs of STEM employers in the region. The Northwestern Nevada Regional STEM Network Advisory Committee has identified three intermediate outcomes on the path to its ultimate objective:
Equity in STEM: STEM stakeholders in Nevada have equity set as a priority in program design and implementation.
Awareness of STEM: All Nevadans, especially families, students, and job seekers are aware of the benefits of STEM education and opportunities for STEM careers.
High quality STEM: High quality STEM education programs with knowledgeable educators and engaged business partners exist in all counties, cities, and districts.
Rural Nevada Regional: To support and fund initiatives that move the Rural Regional STEM Network closer to its ultimate objective: Rural Nevada has an educated, skilled, and diverse STEM workforce that meets the needs of STEM employers in the region. The Rural Nevada Regional STEM Network Advisory Committee has identified three intermediate outcomes on the path to its ultimate objective:
Equity in STEM: STEM stakeholders employ evidence-based strategies that lead to increased participation in high-quality STEM programs from all groups, with a particular focus on students that are traditionally underserved.
Awareness of STEM: All Nevadans, especially families, students, and job seekers are aware of the benefits of STEM education and opportunities for STEM careers.
High quality STEM: High quality STEM education programs with knowledgeable educators and engaged business partners exist in all counties, cities, and districts.
Southern Nevada Regional: To support and fund initiatives that move the Southern Regional STEM Network closer to its ultimate objective: Southern Nevada has an educated, skilled, and diverse STEM workforce that meets the needs of STEM employers in the region. The Southern Nevada Regional STEM Network Advisory Committee has identified three intermediate outcomes on the path to its ultimate objective:
Equity in STEM: STEM stakeholders employ evidence-based strategies that lead to increased participation in high-quality STEM programs from all groups, with a particular focus on students that are traditionally underserved.
Awareness of STEM: All Nevadans, especially families, students, and job seekers are aware of the benefits of STEM education and opportunities for STEM careers.

Funding Information

A competitive process will be used to distribute a total of $50,000.
All funding awarded by the Statemust be spent by June 30, 2022.
Criteria

The three Regional STEM Networks will not consider applications to fund the same project that has been submitted to multiple regions. Applicants must select a single Region in which to focus on and solicit funding for each project.
Applicants with capacity or infrastructure in multiple Regions may submit applications to multiple Regions, but the applications must seek funding for different projects that uniquely meet the needs of each Region.
